Teaching - Training
The Geosciences Department is involved in several types of teaching/training :
- initial training (civil engineering teaching of MINES ParisTech)
- doctoral programme
The Department hosts and manages five postgraduate courses of MINES ParisTech linked to two doctoral departments : Géosciences et ressources naturelles (Geosciences and natural resources), Université Paris VI-Agro-ParisTech, and Information, communication, modélisation et simulation (Information, communication, modelling and simulation), Université de Marne-la-Vallée.

The Department welcomes and manages two specialized (post-diploma) trainings of MINES ParisTech, attached to the CESMAT (Higher Education Centre of raw materials) : the CESECO (technical and economic analysis of open pit and underground mining operation) and the CFSG (specialized training in geostatistics).

Inter-company seminars are also organized on request, in France or abroad.
In addition, the Department contributes to two professional masters, Transportation and sustainable development and Energy strategies, and to a specialised master, Engineering and environmental management.
- Training by research
The Department is taking part in various research masters : Geo-Environment (in collaboration with the University of Marne-la-Vallée), Mechanics of soils, rocks and works in their environment (with Ponts ParisTech), Hydrology and Hydrogeology, lithosphere, basins, resources, and Earth sciences, environment, economy (with the University of Paris VI and Agro ParisTech), and Virtual reality and intelligent systems (with the University of Evry Val d'Essonne).
